Nickel Men — a gambling story that I classify as Las Vegas noir (because noir is a default state in Vegas) was a finalist in the 2018 Remember in November Contest sponsored by Hippocampus Magazine. The magazine is devoted exclusively to creative nonfiction.

Congratulations to First Place finalist Linda Stead for her winning entry “The Cyclops Child,” Runner-Up Laura Gilkey for “Portraits of a Dying Day,” and fellow finalists Adriana Gonzalez for “Sights of Narrowleaf Milkwood,” and Jessica Reed for “The Gospel Bus.”
